Thanks to the magic wind, when the unassuming Miriam (instead of the smug Suzanne) gets the leading role in the school play, Katie soon finds herself on stage, trying to sing and remember her lines. Includes directions for making fingerprint doodles.
"Ma may mi mo moo!" Suzanne sang out as she stood in the middle of Katie Carew's kitchen.
It was Thursday afternoon. Suzanne and some of the other fourth-grade kids had come over after school. They were going to bake cookies with Katie's mom. Everyone knew Mrs. Carew baked the most delicious cookies in Cherrydale.
"Ma may mi mo moo!" Suzanne sang again, louder this time.
"What weird language is that?" Jeremy asked Suzanne.
"Jeremy, you don't know anything," Suzanne said, tossing her long brown hair behind her shoulder.
Katie's school is putting on a play, and Suzanne is determined to get the lead role. When Miriam lands it instead, Katie expects a lot of trouble - but she doesn't expect the magic wind to turn her into Miriam just before the show! Katie doesn't know the lines and can't sing. Will the show go on? Will it go on with Suzanne instead?
